Walker's New Hat

I almost forgot what those few days were like after Walker came home from the vet.  It was dreadful for him and me.
I had planned to have him neutered before we start our next set of puppy classes the end February so off we went a week and a half ago.  So hoping he would be a bit mellow when I brought him home was a real joke.
The vet said he would have to wear that "LampShade" for about 10 days.  YIKES!!
The only way I could keep him calm was to put him on his leash and take him out to do his business and then I would watch him eat and drink water and then put him in his crate.  That way he was enclosed pretty tight and couldn't get at the collar.

After a couple of days I would take the collar off and watch him ever so close so he wouldn't start scratching or biting at the incision but as soon as he started in I would put it back on.  It was so large he would bump into the walls and it was difficult for him to see really good.

Thanks goodness it didn't take a week and half but it was close.  He is now free of it and really frisky.  OH! that was another thing the vet said, don't let him jump or get excited.  Well that didn't stop him one bit.  Someone told me I should have named him WildMan Walker.

Speckled Nose Spots

Tonight as I was playing with Walker I noticed that the little white spots on his nose are gone.  It now is all black and his eyes look blue in this photo but as he grew they changed.  They are now a pretty golden brown.  Aussie's are known for blue eyes and I did hope for that with Walker but I am not disappointed one bit in his eyes. The expression at times is so wonderful and charming I am just tickled he is what is he.
Braxton had a half moon of white on his right eye and some strangers would think he was blind in that eye.  So I would explain the best I could.  So many times I took for granted that everyone knew what I do about Aussies and I don't know much.

Puppy Teeth and Small Rope

Today is one beautiful day.  Sunshine and wind but so wonderful what God provides for us.

So off I went to prune my roses.  The majority of them are in the front yard which is not fenced and off limits to Walker.  There is a wire that crosses between the front and back with red flags that he recognizes as being a HOT WIRE( which it is not) so I thought I will just tie him to the cherry tree so he can be close. I was skeptical that it would last long.  The rope that I was using was quite small.  It was long but I knew those little puppy teeth would chew thru.

He had settled down while I was out there but I had to go into the house when a repairman came to look at my kitchen stove.  Being outside and missing out on the action -of course those little sharp teeth went to work and he chewed it in half.

Now I knew that would happen.  I thought I needed to get the heavy duty plastic covered cable from our trailer but I was hoping against hope he wouldn't do it but he just has to be where ever we are.  Which I love.

Still having some difficulty in posting photos of him and his antics but I will keep trying.

Always up to something

I think I can fit into this basket
No matter what is on the floor Walker is there checking it out.  This is the basket I keep spuds and onions in on the kitchen floor.  I was bound and determined that I wasn't going to move things around and keep Walker from getting into them.  This day he tried and tried to take something out and then decided to just get in the dang basket.
I thought I could get into it.   Sure enough he made it but he didn't stay in there very long.
